Grapeseed, vitis vinifera, is a light and somewhat astringent base oil. It is green in color, with very little scent. Skin absorbs it pretty quickly and may tighten or tone the skin - those with oily skin find grapeseed to be a good moisturizing oil. It usually does not aggravate acne.
Grapeseed can last up to 12 months on the shelf, especially if kept cool and if you add a few drops of natural mixed tocopherols (vitamin e).
